TWT AEO Ultimate – Support Documentation

Version: 2.1.1  |  Tested up to: WordPress 7.0  |  By: Tampa Web Technologies

What Is TWT AEO Ultimate?

TWT AEO Ultimate is a free WordPress plugin that helps your site get cited by AI-powered search engines — ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Bing Copilot, and others. It scans your content for Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) gaps, manages structured schema markup, and connects your site to the TWT AEO Professional Dashboard for agency-level reporting.

Unlike a traditional SEO plugin, TWT AEO Ultimate focuses specifically on making your pages understandable to AI models: E-E-A-T signals, schema completeness, social graph coverage, content freshness, and local entity data.

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.0 or higher (tested up to WordPress 7.0)
  • PHP 7.4 or higher
  • Administrator-level access to install and configure
  • An active SEO plugin (Yoast SEO, Rank Math, AIOSEO, etc.) is recommended but not required

Getting Started

Automatic Setup Wizard

When you activate TWT AEO Ultimate for the first time, the Setup Wizard launches automatically. Choose the mode that fits your workflow:

Mode Best For What It Does
Autopilot (recommended) Most sites Automatically enables FAQ schema, company info, social profiles, and author box in a single click. Done in under a minute.
The Basics DIY site owners Two steps: enter your business name, email, phone, and social profiles; then set your GA4 ID and toggle IndexNow / Sitemap on or off.
Expert Developers & agencies Five steps covering company identity, all seven social platforms, per-author metadata, full module selection, and AI API key setup.

You can re-run the Setup Wizard at any time from AEO → Setup Wizard in your WordPress admin menu.

Features & Modules

TWT AEO Ultimate uses a modular architecture. Every feature can be enabled or disabled independently from AEO → Modules — only what you turn on runs on your site.

Core (Always Active)

  • AEO Dashboard — Site-wide scoring with per-page scan results. Pages are scanned automatically when you save or update content. Use the “Scan All Pages” button to refresh the full site at once.
  • Schema Advisor — Detects existing schema on each page and evaluates it against page intent (homepage, service page, blog post, etc.). Flags missing or incorrect schema without false warnings.
  • SEO Plugin Compatibility — Detects your active SEO plugin and tracks what schema it already outputs so TWT AEO Ultimate never duplicates or conflicts with it.
  • Page Intent Classifier — Classifies each page as homepage, service page, blog post, location page, or product page so all recommendations stay relevant.

E-E-A-T & Author Signals

  • Author Entity — Manage author E-E-A-T profiles: credentials, certifications, and social sameAs links. Outputs Person schema with EducationalOccupationalCredential. Adds AEO fields directly to Users → Profile.
  • Author Schema — Detects whether your theme displays author info front-facing and adds Author schema only when appropriate and missing.
  • Author Box — Audits whether your site has a visible author box and matching author schema. Flags missing bio/avatar and recommends fixes.
  • Author Hover Cards — Shows a lightweight author preview card when visitors hover over author links: bio, job title, certifications, expertise tags, and social profiles.
  • Last Updated Badge — Prepends a visible “Last Updated: [date]” line to blog posts so AI models always see a freshness signal. Only shown when the post has been modified after its original publish date.

Schema

  • FAQ Detector — Scans pages for accordion blocks, FAQ sections, and Q&A content. Flags missing FAQPage schema and can add it automatically.
  • Service Detector — Scans pages and posts for service-oriented content. Flags pages missing Service schema and rescans automatically on save.
  • Contact Detector — Scans contact pages for Organization, PostalAddress, and ContactPoint schema. Flags missing entity data and consolidation issues.
  • Google News — Generates a Google News sitemap, outputs NewsArticle JSON-LD with full Author Entity integration, and adds a per-post metabox for article section, keywords, and sitemap exclusion.
  • Schema Conflict Detector — Finds schema conflicts with other installed plugins and flags the exact duplicated types, letting you resolve them cleanly.

Social & Open Graph

  • Social Graph — Unified Open Graph and Twitter/X Card manager. Scans all pages for OG coverage, shows missing fields at a glance, and lets you edit og:title, og:description, og:image, twitter:card, and more from a single modal. Auto-fills twitter:creator from Author Entity data.

Local & Indexing

  • Local Pack — Build your LocalBusiness schema with a predictive business-type picker, opening hours, service area, and geo coordinates. Audits NAP (Name, Address, Phone) consistency across Google Knowledge Graph, Google Business Profile, and Bing Maps.
  • IndexNow — Instantly notifies Bing, Yandex, and all IndexNow-compatible engines when your content is published or updated. Generates and hosts your verification key automatically — no file upload required.
  • Sitemap Generator — Generates an XML sitemap at /aeo-sitemap.xml. Configurable per post type. Cache invalidates automatically on content changes. Warns you if Yoast, Rank Math, or AIOSEO already provides a sitemap.

WooCommerce (requires WooCommerce)

  • WooCommerce Detector — Scans products for schema presence. Classifies products as physical or service, flags missing Product/Service schema, and rescans on save.
  • Google Merchant Center Sync — Compares your WooCommerce catalog against your live GMC feed. Tracks price/availability mismatches, GTIN/MPN/SKU gaps, feed sync latency, and surfaces rejection error codes from the Content API.
  • Bing Merchant Center Sync — Same as above for Bing/Microsoft Advertising. Surfaces item-level disapproval codes via the Shopping Content API.

Content & AI

  • PR Bridge AI — Detects press release intent in posts, transforms them into AP-style copy using Claude AI, and distributes to wire services (EIN Presswire, EasyPRWire). Includes a Media Report for tracking distribution status.
  • AI Ready — Configures your site for AI crawler accessibility and manages your AI API keys (Claude, OpenAI). On WordPress 7.0, keys can be managed centrally via Settings → Connectors.
  • Command Center — Manages your Google OAuth connection, Bing Webmaster integration, and other external platform links from one place.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this conflict with Yoast SEO, Rank Math, or AIOSEO?

No. TWT AEO Ultimate is designed to complement your existing SEO plugin, not replace it. It focuses on AEO signals that traditional SEO plugins don’t cover. The built-in SEO Plugin Compatibility module detects what schema your SEO plugin already outputs and avoids duplicating it. If any schema conflict is detected, the Schema Conflict Detector flags it with a clear resolution.

What is AEO?

Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) is the practice of structuring your content so AI-powered search tools — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Bing Copilot — can find, understand, and cite your pages in their answers. AEO goes beyond traditional SEO by focusing on entity clarity, structured data completeness, E-E-A-T signals, and content freshness.

Do I need API keys to use the plugin?

No. API keys (Claude, OpenAI) are only needed for AI-powered features like PR Bridge and the Content Generator. All core AEO scanning, schema tools, E-E-A-T management, Social Graph, Local Pack, and indexing features work without any API keys.

How do page scans work?

Pages are scanned automatically every time you save or update a post. The results appear on the AEO Dashboard. You can also click Scan All Pages from the Dashboard to force a fresh scan of your entire site at once.

What is the TWT AEO Professional Dashboard?

The Professional Dashboard is a separate agency-level tool by Tampa Web Technologies. This plugin — the “client” plugin — sends scan data to the dashboard, allowing agencies to monitor AEO health across multiple client sites from a single interface. Contact Tampa Web Technologies to learn more about agency access.

Is the plugin free?

Yes. TWT AEO Ultimate is free and available on the WordPress plugin directory. Pro add-ons (TWT Content Generator, TWT AEO Pro) are in development and will be available as separate standalone plugins.

Does it work with WordPress 7.0?

Yes. TWT AEO Ultimate is tested and fully compatible with WordPress 7.0 (released May 20, 2026). On WordPress 7.0, AI provider keys (Claude, OpenAI) can be managed centrally via Settings → Connectors. The plugin detects this automatically and defers to the Connectors API when keys are already set there, so you don’t have to manage keys in two places.

Troubleshooting

The Setup Wizard didn’t appear after activation.

The wizard only auto-launches on the very first activation. If you missed it, go to AEO → Setup Wizard in the WordPress admin menu to run it again at any time.

My pages show as unscanned.

Click Scan All Pages on the AEO Dashboard. Automatic scanning runs on post save, so newly imported content or pages created before activation won’t have a scan result until manually triggered.

I see a schema conflict warning.

Go to AEO → Schema Conflicts. The conflict detector identifies exactly which plugin is outputting duplicate schema types and explains the recommended fix — usually disabling that schema type in either your SEO plugin or in TWT AEO Ultimate’s module settings.

The sitemap warns that one already exists.

This warning appears when Yoast SEO, Rank Math, or AIOSEO is already generating a sitemap. You can safely leave TWT AEO Ultimate’s Sitemap module disabled in this case — your existing SEO plugin’s sitemap is sufficient. Enable it only if you want to replace or supplement that sitemap.

AI key fields are disabled in the Expert wizard (WordPress 7.0).

WordPress 7.0 introduced the Connectors API for centralized AI key management (Settings → Connectors). When the plugin detects that keys are already registered there, it disables the key fields in the wizard to avoid duplication. Set or update your keys under Settings → Connectors instead.

Google Merchant Center or Bing sync shows no data.

Make sure WooCommerce is installed and active, then connect your Google or Bing account from AEO → Command Center. The merchant center sync modules only appear in the module list when WooCommerce is detected.
